Melbourne hotels overtake Sydney's, according to online reputation analysis

Out of five Australian cities, consumers give the highest scores to hotels in Melbourne, according to a new analysis of reviews on TripAdvisor, and more than 100 other review sites.

ReviewPro analyzed more than 283,000 reviews published over the last 12 months for hotels in Melbourne (with 126 hotels), Sydney (122 hotels), Brisbane (77 hotels), Cairns (51 hotels) and Adelaide (49 hotels). It included hotels with more than 25 published reviews.

ReviewPro uses a proprietary algorithm to compile a Global Review Index score (GRI™), which lets hotels track their performance and compare themselves against rivals. This analysis ranks hotels by their GRI™ scores for the last 12 months.
