Employee Spotlight: Meet Direct Marketing Specialist, Miguel Borratxero

Where are you from and how long have you been in BCN?
I’m from Barcelona and have lived in the city for the majority of my life, with the exception of one year in Paris for work. From experience, I can confidently say that I live in the best – or most complete – city in the world, at least from my perspective!

What did you do before joining ReviewPro?
Before joining the ReviewPro team, I was working for three years in Luxury Marketing for four perfume companies within the Puig label (Nina Ricci, Prada, Paco Rabanne, Carolina Herrera). Then the opportunity arose to work in Paris at Nina Ricci.

What do you do here? Talk us through your usual day
As part of Direct Marketing, our final objective is to build awareness and understanding of our tools, assisting hoteliers put more “heads in beds” through pro-active management of their online reputation. We offer a wealth of tools and online resources to assist hotel managers maximize guest satisfaction. My role ends when one of our reputation experts gets in touch with the hotel in question, and analyzes the problems we can help them solve, thanks to the functionality of our products.

What will you do this weekend?
After work on Friday I’ll go for a game of tennis, followed by dinner and drinks with friends. On Saturday, (if it’s windy enough!) I’d like to go kite-surfing and if not, it’ll be wake-boarding. Either way, I’ll get to bed early on Saturday because I’m doing a 10km “Curso del Barça,” leaving from the FC Barcelona football stadium.

What is the biggest challenge facing hoteliers these days?
In two words, online reputation is the biggest challenge. Technological advances have created transparency in the industry, posing both opportunities and difficulties to economic development. In such a competitive environment, hoteliers have to adapt to the behavior of increasingly connected consumers.
